It's very easy, when you have an addiction, to use it as an excuse for your behavior. To think that just because you have this compulsion it gives you free reign to do as you please. You can make all the bad decisions you want, and you don't have to take responsibility for them because you have a handy scapegoat that follows you around wherever you go.
